Deployment Sunday 19th
Request from Fire & Rescue to assist with disabled passenger from Hitchin Railway station to get to St Neots. All trains cancelled and over 200 passengers displaced. Colin (HT26) responded but on arrival at the station it was clear that the Rail Operator was well advanced with plans to use taxis and coaches for transport. Conditions were improving, witnessed by the fact that the disabled passenger had already been dispatched by taxi. Colin stood down.

On return from meals on wheels deliveries, Colin (HT26) recovered an articulated petrol tanker stuck in snow near Rickmansworth.

Request from Hertfordshire County Council Duty Officer for Home carer visits in Royston, no members close enough to respond in required time frame. Call declined by mutual consent.
 
Aborted call out Sunday 19th
Lister Hospital in Stevenage requested transport for Nurse from Lister to QE2 in Welwyn Garden City. However they left the request on voicemail but didn't give a return number. Lister switchboard were unable to trace call; aborted.

Hertfordshire Community Meals, Meals on Wheels deliveries from Bushey, Peter (HT10) and Dave (HT07) responded, a third and fourth vehicle was required Colin (HT26) was still on site (from deployment below) so agreed to go out, David (HT24) diverted from St Albans also deployed.

Four vehicles requested at St Albans for Hertfordshire Community Meals (Meals on Wheels deliveries) Wayne (HT31), Clive (HT27), Paul (HT08) and David (HT24) all responded, however due to HCM getting in additional resources but failing to inform us, only two vehicles were required. Luckily Clive and David were prepared to redploy to the two calls above.

Requested to transport four Nurses from QE2 Welwyn Garden City to Stevenage, HT31 (Wayne) responded. On arrival he was told they had "taken a cab" needless to say we were not amused.

Collect staff nurse from Shenley to QE2 hospital, HT07 (Dave) responded. Some difficulty in finding address as Hospital supplied the wrong Postcode but we got there with the aid of Google Maps.

Request from East and North Herts NHS Trust to transport Nurse from Hitchin to QE2 Hospital in Welwyn Garden City. HT27 (Clive) Responded.

To transport District nurse from Dunstable to Toddington, referred to BHC 4x4 Response as it was in their area. Call was done by Mark HT21 Responded as a member of BHC (serves him right for being a member of two groups)!

Asked by Fire Service to transport disabled person (and electric wheel chair) from Marks and Spencers at London Colney to Radlett. HT26 (Colin) Responded. On arrival discovered that person also had two companions! A very tight squeeze in a Land Rover 90.

Call from Ambulance Service to recover ambulance stuck in St Albans, HT03 (Dan) diverted from earlier call to assist. Unable to reach St Albans due to abandoned cars on route call cancelled.

Call from SERV on behalf of UK Transplant Service, two persons to be transported from Waltham Abbey to Northwick Park Hospital (Harrow). Call was cancelled before we had deployed.
